In 1991, the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs at the time, Mr. Muneo Suzuki, told Mrs. Sugihara that he highly appreciated her husband's deeds. After that, in 2000, the year that marks the birth centennial of Chiune Sugihara, a plate with the words "In honor of the diplomat Chiune Sugihara, who performed a courageous and humanitarian act" was placed at the Foreign Ministry archives. And by this, the honor of Chiune Sugihara was restored completely.
